Programme Overview

The Certificate Programme in Advanced Project Management is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of project governance, planning, risk management, and advanced execution methodologies. Learners will gain expertise in quantitative scheduling tools including CPM and Critical Chain, apply financial models to real-world project decisions, and master Agile and Scrum frameworks. The programme emphasises practical experience with industry tools such as Jira, Asana, Miro, and Notion, and incorporates AI, Machine Learning, and data analytics into its core curriculum. By engaging in live instruction, case studies, and a 20-hour Capstone Project, participants will be prepared to plan, execute, monitor, and close complex projects with precision and confidence.

Dr. Murali Jaganathan

Assistant Professor, Building Technology and Construction Management Division, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras | Programme Coordinator

Dr. Murali Jaganathan is an Assistant Professor at the Building Technology and Construction Management (BTCM) Division, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras. He specialises in construction contracts, claims management, and dispute resolution. Prior to joining IIT Madras, he served as faculty at the L&T Institute of Project Management, Chennai, and as Assistant Professor at NICMAR, Pune. He brings deep industry alignment to modules on project governance, contracts, execution controls, and dispute resolution practices. He serves as the Programme Coordinator for the Certificate Programme in Advanced Project Management.

Dr. S. Srinivasan

Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Madras

Dr. S. Srinivasan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras. He holds a PhD from IIT Madras and is a DAAD Fellowship recipient, having conducted research in Germany in 2016. His research spans organisational behaviour, human resource management, employee engagement, employee experience, CSR, and HR analytics. He is an active contributor to executive education and industry-academic collaborations at IIT Madras. In this programme, he teaches modules on project team leadership, human resource management, and organisational behaviour.

Mr. Shanker

Founder and Director, Madras Consulting Group | Alumnus, IIM Ahmedabad

Mr. Shanker is the Founder and Director of Madras Consulting Group, which he established in 1985. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, he has over 30 years of consulting experience across India, the Middle East, and South East Asia. He has served as adjunct faculty at IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIT Madras, IFMR, and BIM Trichy, and is a Past President of the Institute of Management Consultants of India. In this programme, he covers business strategy, market entry strategy, and consulting frameworks as they apply to project management contexts.

Dr. Nibu John Thomas

Digital Innovation Consultant | PhD, IIT Madras

Dr. Nibu John Thomas holds a PhD from IIT Madras and specialises in gamification, learning design, human behaviour, and organisational development. He has worked as a Learning Experience Designer and faculty associated with IIT Madras, designing and delivering executive workshops and professional programmes. His expertise spans AI, innovation, leadership, metaverse applications, and digital transformation. In this programme, he teaches modules on AI in project management, digital transformation, and the future of project leadership.

Dr. Santhosh Loganathan

Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Trichy

Dr. Santhosh Loganathan is an Assistant Professor in Construction and Project Management at the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Trichy. He holds a Joint PhD from IIT Madras and the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research spans construction productivity, automation of construction processes, capacity building, construction workforce development, and megaprojects management. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Santhosh brings approximately five years of industry experience with Larsen and Toubro and NCC Ltd, as well as teaching experience with the University of Technology Sydney. In this programme, he contributes expertise in construction project management, large-scale project execution, and industry-aligned project delivery practices.
